State Republican Primary
** This year’s Republican primary for Governor presents Tennessee voters with an unusual choice. All three leading candidates are strong conservatives who share the same core principles—something rarely found in other states. Each brings important strengths, and each has areas of weaknesses. Based on intensive research on all, we have assigned all three the same rating. Sen. Marsha Blackburn offers unmatched statewide name recognition and media appearances. Rep. Monty Fritts was the only candidate to complete our questionnaire and is widely recognized for his powerful commitment to Christian values and principles. Rep. John Rose brings extensive experience as a successful businessman and employer, providing executive leadership, budget management, and organizational experience. Tennessee Republicans face the enviable task of choosing among three qualified conservative candidates.
